Great Athletes are Defined Between the Ears….Not just Playing a Bunch of Games
I remember when I was younger, I played a bunch of baseball games because during games you could define how well you perform under pressure. Makes sense, put yourself in a lot of game winning situation with 2 on and 2 out in the bottom of the ninth. That is where the true athlete is defined.
Well, yes and no.
Yes, that being in pressure packed situations over and over can help you to succeed in any sporting event because you learn to control the fear, anxiety, reactions, etc. To get better you have to compete. So, let’s take that word compete and extend it out. To become better in competition you have to compete on a regular basis…but it doesn’t have to be the same sport! The same mind frame that improves performance in baseball can be developed playing soccer, football, basketball, hockey, etc. it doesn’t matter.
Message: Your child can maximize performance in all sports by switching throughout the seasons. It just doesn’t have to be the same thing over and over to get the results your child is looking for.
